DMARC
Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance. An email authentication protocol designed to protect domain names from misuse.
Overview
DMARC, along with SPF and DKIM, is the foundation of email identity verification. It prevents attackers from easily spoofing your company's domain to send phishing emails to your customers or employees. However, DMARC configuration is complex, and many organizations leave it in 'monitoring' mode rather than 'reject' mode, leaving them vulnerable. Furthermore, DMARC cannot protect against look-alike domains (typosquatting) or compromised legitimate accounts. PhiShark fills this gap, validating the intent and payload of emails regardless of their DMARC status, providing a critical layer of defense beyond basic authentication.
Real-World Examples
